Okay, so I've been a CNA for about a year now, and I LOVE it. I just know that I can't do this forever. I'd like to stay in the healthcare field, but I'm not so sure RN or LPN is for me. Most of what they do, I'd have no problem with, but a few things make me a bit squeemish. What other avenues might I want to look at, keeping in mind that school was never really my thing. I was looking at radiological tech, but apparently that's pretty heavy into physics and math...
Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated and thoroughly investigated.

Have you considered becoming a medical biller & coder? I hear they make good money. Or medical assisting?

You could always do LPN thats a year (I think) of school. Not too long of school, and if that's not what you like maybe try RN you can get an ADN thats two-three years of schooling. I would go for RN having your CNA is a plus, and if you love the health care field you can't go wrong. If you don't like doing what RN's do there are soo many options in the health care field. Maybe go on google and read up on schooling, postions, etc.
Good Luck!

I am in your same situation! There are a few things I'm quite squimish about. But the great thing about becoming an RN or graduate level nurse is that there are sooooo many options. For example with cancer nursing, at least from what I've seen all you do is give chemo and administer medications and IV's. I currently take my client that I care for as an in home caregiver to the oncology outpatient center every weeks and its a very nonstessful enviornment with no blood and guts.
Also there is administrative positions, school nursing, etc.
However - in order to get to those positions you would have to go through nursing school in which you would incounter many of the things that make you squimish.
For me, I think I can learn not to be so squimish and then if I can't handle it just choose a different type of nursing to do.
Best of luck!
Physical Therapy is a great option too!

Great suggestions so far!!! How about lab tech, respiratory therapist, speech therapist, or social worker. It really depends on which aspects of the job you like and which ones you want to avoid.
You may want to do a search at an online bookstore or amazon for "healthcare careers"
This could lead you to the perfect job!!
