I'm currently reviewing the health history forms we send out at the beginning of each year and making my health concerns list. One question on the form is to list any previous fractures and what area/bone. One form lists "both thumbs" I'm thinking - Did he not pay the mob boss??? Gambling debts??? What's the story here??

I think his sweet sister was trying to help him stay on the monkey bars, so she tied his thumbs so he wouldn't fall.

Ha! My father actually broke 8 of his fingers (every one except the thumbs!) when he was a teenager. He had few younger brothers close in age and for years, they were mum on what happened. My grandmother had her suspicions. 20+ years later, they confirmed that two of them (both at least 6 inches taller and 25 pounds heavier) thought it would be awesome to sit on top of my dad while he was doing push-ups in the backyard.

I had a health history form that said yes to hospitalization over night: elevator accident. Any serious injuries? Yes: fractured blah, blah, blah. If I wasn't horrified enough as an adult to ride an elevator I sure am now.
Edit: I admit I am glad I do not know the story.
