Hi!
I graduate in December and I was wondering when it is appropriate to start applying for jobs? I will be graduating with my BSN and live in Boston. I know the market is very competitive I just want to make sure I'm on top of things rather than behind the ball. Any advice would be great!!

Now. Get ur name out there. Put in apps. Call nurse recruiters. Show up well dressed with ur resume and cover letter and references. Get them to know you.
Hi okay that's what I thought! But when applying certain questions throw me off... Like when can you start and do you have a license for this position. What do I say for that?

I started searching the semester I graduated. Interviewed months before graduation. Just time when the grogram/application starts and whether your interim permit or nclex will be taken by then.

Fellow Bostonian here. NOW would be a good time. There are limited new grad positions in Boston and they are all usually filled long before graduation/NCLEX. When I graduated I had my job secured by March for a September start date. If you graduate in December, you could presumably be available to start in Jan/Feb depending on when you take NCLEX. You do not have a license yet but you can write something like "anticipated NCLEX date Dec 2013 or January 2014 or whatever".
