Hi everyone,
I'm graduating with my BSN next June and was wondering when I should start looking for/applying/interviewing for jobs. I'm thinking about working in the Los Angeles area, hopefully in L&D or the NICU. Any advice would be great. Thanks a bunch.:redbeathe:heartbeat:redbeathe

Most hospitals start looking to fill new grad positions in the spring, March/April. Their new grad programs often start July/August. Keep abreast of open houses for RN in your desired area. Have your resume up to date at that point and take it with you. Some hospitals hire on the spot during these events.

Congrats on graduating next year, I'm sure you are looking forward to having a life again. :)
I'm not from CA, but I can let you know when I applied and everything. My #1 goal was to work at the Mayo Clinic in MN, so I started talking to a very lovely gal in HR a year and a half before I graduated, just to meet them and put my name out there. In Feb. 2008 I talked with them again at a career fair and applied the following day. I had an interview shortly after and was offered the position in early March 2008. I graduated in late April.
Good luck on your job search!!

I actually started applying for jobs in December of 07 (graduated May 08) the hospital where I will be working wanted new grads to apply by Dec 1st and I did Dec 29th, on the other hand, another hospital was busy with their Dec new grads and didn't have time to interview any May new grads, I would just look up the prospective hospitals and see what they say regarding the application process. Also, CHLA begins interviews in February so I wouldn't wait until April or May to apply and their RN Residency program starts I think in like March for Dec grads and Sept for May grads.
