When should I start applying for LPN job's?

Published

I graduate in August and probably won't take the NCLEX until September/November. Should I start applying for LPN job's now that I am in level 3 or should I wait until I pass my boards or wait until closer to graduation?

I would try to network more than i would apply for jobs. Applying for jobs at this moment would only get you overlooked because you haven't graduated or passed the NCLEX.

Congratulations in advance! :) I just graduated about 2 wks ago & all places here where I am (in Columbus GA) with the exception of ONE nursing home would not even consider me for a position yet b/c I have not taken boards yet. Many places here will take your app, but won't even schedule an interview prior to you taking & passing boards. You will find too, that many places will only hold your app for x amt of days, so it may all in all be better to just wait until closer to time for NCLEX til you apply..Of course unless you network & meet some ppl that can help you get your foot in the door:) Good luck with everything!!!!

Thank you so much! :)

In my neck of the woods, no-one will give your application any consideration if you haven't taken and passed NCLEX-PN.
