When Do I Apply for Jobs?

Hello all, its been a long time coming but I'll be done with my DNP (FNP track) program this August. I was wondering when would be a good time to start applying for jobs. School faculty recommends starting now. I am unsure of this because of the time it takes between taking the exam and practicing. Is it a good idea to apply for jobs before your done with school or is it dependent on the employer? I look forward to your responses. Thanks in advance.

I graduate in May (just finished my last clinical today!) and started in February - I had several interviews and inquiries from both rural and metro facilities. Good luck!
