What's your typical day like?

i will answer my own question to give you an idea of what i'm asking...i'm just curious about your "set up" in your various places!

i am an lpn, nurse at a rural elementary school. ~440 students from prek-5th. my clinic is actually in the 3rd grade hallway, situated in a "square" with the 4 sides consisting of prek &k, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades. 4th and 5th are located on the other end of the school. i have one diabetic student who is in 5th grade, he has a pump. he tests on his own in the morning and lets me know if his bs is abnormal. at lunch, we count his carbs and use the digital remote of his pump to administer insulin. i have one morning med and two afternoon meds. several otc/prn meds. i have one student who has an active seizure disorder, but it is handled mostly by his special ed teacher. i see anywhere from 15-25 students on an average day, sometimes less, sometimes more. i see a lot of tummy aches and headaches, nosebleeds are common. i have a couple of chronic lice cases that i have to handle every once in a while. the staff and faculty here are wonderful, i'm close friends with many of them.

i keep my daily logs on my computer. my med book and my diabetic's log book are on my desk, i write in them when needed. i am in the process of making a folder for each child in the school to keep in a "crate" type filing system. when the 5th graders leave, their folders will be re-labeled with blank labels for the incoming kindy kids. i do several in class presentations during the year. i did five on dental health last week, and have three more scheduled for next week. i do lice checks every 2 months, i wait until the system wide nurse is on rotation here and we do the entire school in one day. i can't think of anything else at the moment....

what about you?
