Hello, everyone!
I was curious what the pay usually is for someone just graduating with their BSN. I only ask because UNLV's nursing program has become quite pricey and while I have saved enough to pay for living expenses, etc. I need to take out a loan to pay for tuition along with my books. I know there is a rule stating that you shouldn't take out more in student loans than you will make in one year. So I could use all of your guys' advice! Also, I am going to attempt to work part time while in the program but I don't know how that will affect my studies, which worries me.
Thank you!

It's around $30/hr. Give or take a dollar or two. Usually night diff is about $2/hr and weekends another $1. About 55,000-60,000 a year.
Oh and I don't really think there is much of a difference in pay for BSN vs associates. I didn't get a pay raise but I can't vouch for all hospitals.
Thank you so much! What hospital do you work for? Also, do you have any tips. I'm about to start nursing school september 8th and I have no idea what to expect.

Is the night diff required as part of the pay when working nights or weekends? Or employers can just offer the basic without nightdiff?
I suppose a hospital can do Whatever they want but I have never heard of there not being a night and weekend diff offered. The amount might differ from place to place though.
Will it be against the law if a nurse in a skilled nursing facility is not given a night diff if he/she works pm and evening shifts?
I don't think it's a law that they have to pay night diff. Nursing homes might be different anyways.
Could be. Thank you for responding.

^^She is correct, it's about $28/hr at most hospitals. St. Rose pays more & is the highest, but only hires through their new grad program without experience.
