Wondering because I have gotton a job offer from them.
They seem to have excellent benefits/ flexible scheduling - so it seems hoping it's true.
if I accept.... I'll be prn .........pay is very appealing...for prn... Work seems like there is a lot to learn Challenging yet excitingly different/ the facility is beautiful on the inside .... they said they still work w/ MARS which was kinda surprising I thought they may have converted to computer sys. ......... it seems like an interesting move.
Anyone have any insight ...........into what HealthSouth is like?????

Their former CEO is doing prison time for fraud, which tells you much about the corporate culture.
Like most places, your working conditions depend in large part on your coworkers and immediate supervisors ... the only way to find out about that is to talk to people who work in the facility. Asking about staffing ratios, CNA support and their ratios (a CNA isn't going to be very available to you if she has 15 or 20 patients of her own) are good places to start.
Yeah I knew about the CEO... the staffing sounds do-able
salary is right... schedule seems flexible, it seems like a very nice place to work on the surface.
I think I'll just go- for- it... I'll give my final decision on tues. .......
If I don't like it I can always quit though as
a rule I never make/ made a habit of it.
Besides this job would be to supplement
my hours at my current job.

Please do not believe that the corporate culture is reflected in Richard Scrushy's actions.....16 of the top executives involved in the wrong doings are convicted criminals now - and Scrushy's is serving time, plus the judge ruled this week that he has to pay back over 2 billion! in ill-gotten gains. In spite of all of that, the local facility is still highly thought of.....I don't know which facility you are referring to, but based on what I know about the company (and I live here in Birmingham) I would still recommend the facility.

HealthSouth is sooooo much more than the actions of sooo few.

There are several Healthsouth Rehabilitation Hospitals in my area. Many of the nurses who have worked for the company say it was one of the best jobs they have ever had.

I have not worked there, but I had 4 mos of therapy at Healthsouth early this year. Everyone seemed to be very friendly, and in a good mood. Pleasant atmosphere.
