To all the new grads out there, or recent-ish grads...what do you wish they taught you during the general hospital orientation? Can you think of any classes that you wish your hospital had?

I got one: transition to nursing practice....specific to the floor that a nurse will be on...become familiar with the unit culture, patient population, etc., time to have critical thinking exercises to transition how to prepare and handle patient care to help newbies with strategies and skills needed on the floor.

To spend an entire day doing nothing but starting IV's. Maybe in the cath lab? I don't know, but that would have really helped build confidence and skills.
