We spend so much of our time discussing school/nursing related issues (yes, I know this is Allnurses.com lol) but I thought it would be interesting to have a sneak peek into our NON-school nurse time! Those wonderful days known as the weekend, and all those lovely breaks (how many days til summer?? lol!)

My weekends are typically jam-packed! Sometimes, I get a relaxing one that isn't quite as jampacked as the others haha. This one hasn't been too bad, but my hubby has the stomach bug that has hit our area hard in the last few weeks. I went shopping with my mom and two year old daughter on Friday. Yesterday, I cleaned my house, went to see my Mom and Dad for a bit, went to the grocery store, came home, cleaned some more, and then my parents, grandmother, aunt, uncle, and cousin came down to our house to eat dinner. Add in my neice and my 16 y.o sister in law, my husband, me, and our two year old daughter and we had a house full! It was FABULOUS!! I enjoyed every moment of it!!

Today, we planned on going to church but Hubby is still sick with the stomach virus, baby girl has a cough and a runny nose, and I have a sinus infection and congested nose. Definitely not a fun day for us. Luckily, my 10 year old neice and my sil are still with us, so they are a huge help with the baby, since we are not feeling great.

So what does your weekends look like?? Are you a "running the roads from here to there with a jampacked schedule mom of a toddler" like me...or are you "relaxed and loving it" on the weekends?? After some of my super busy weekends, I'm glad to get back to work on Monday to slow down a bit (hahah--doesn't happen very often at all!)

some weekends are fairly quiet. We don't travel much anymore because it's very hard with my handicapped son. Other weekends are very busy, like this past weekend. I chaperoned my DD17s drama club to the state thespian conference. Three days of loud, energetic, over the top teenagers breaking out in flash :clown: mobs several times a day and a huge Rave Friday night. I am utterly exhausted! ;)

My w/es are free to do whatever. I have a 16 y/o at home, but he is self-sufficient. This w/e I went to a 50's party and danced the night away. Good night. A couple of w/es ago I took grandbabies to cocokeys water resort for the w/e. Fun but exhausting! Usually I just lay low and work around the house. I LUV working outside but it is still covered with snow, so I am patiently waiting to get to my gardens :)

Since I am currently working on an RN to BSN program, weekends are homework, housework, homework, homework, laundry, homework, and homework.

Seriously, this weekend, the boys spent Friday night with my parents (they do that most Friday's anyway) and I went to bed early. Saturday I did absolutely nothing! I slept till 10a and then took at nap at 2p, boys came home at 430ish and we went to dinner where I stuffed myself silly, so I came home and sat...then watched a Charlie's Angels marathon until midnight. Sunday was church, nap, grocery shopping, dinner, and bed.

All in all it was a fairly unusal weekend as usally I run errands, grocery shop, do laundry, iron for the week, and do homework.

Cheer practice, softball games, grocery shopping, cleaning house, laundry, chasing 3 year old and 1 year old, hauling 13 year old daughter around to activities, paying bills, helping with paperwork for my hubbie's business.

I GO to work to rest!

I have 2 boys at home so my weekends are packed between them and household stuff. This past weekend however, I actually had a girls weekend with some of my girlfriends that I've known since kindergarten!!!! Nothing but sipping wine and eating chocolate. It was much needed girl time :)

Some weekends are jam packed, some are lounge-around-in-your-pjs...it just depends on what hubby and I have going on. We don't have kids yet, so it's all about us and our critters, lol. We are just starting our training classes to get licensed as foster/adoptive parents, so we are doing that every Saturday for the next month or so, and after that we will start doing respite care for foster kids one or two weekends a month, so our weekends will look, much, much different after that :)

Ha! Here we go, are you ready to hold on and go for my ride?:hpygrp: Friday night started with my son(12, 6th grade) going to his first dance, he invited a girl, who we had to pick up and bring home :heartbeat. He made me so proud going to the door and meeting her parents...good moment. Then we my hubby and I hired a babysitter and went for a quick beer!. Saturday morning started at 7:30, DH runs my DDs Basketball league so he was there fro 7:30-11am, she however was not, as she has a broken arm right now! DS was picked up and brought to fundraiser at Applebee's to serve pancakes. My middle DS (10) and DD (7) went to support him and had a great breakfast. Off to DS(10) bball game then lunch with his team, on to second bball game for him. (DH coaches and met us there for that game) Return to home court for DS (12) game where DH is coaching too, and DD is Cheering...with me coaching. Home by 3:15 for DS (12) family birthday party at 5:30...take pork out of Crockpot and pull it, make coleslaw...find that the bag is rotten and send hubby out to grocerystore (10min away) to get more. Clean while he's out, family arrives at 5:30. 2 extra friends sleeping over and we relax! Sunday was slower...cleaning, helping a friend with a dressing change, and then at 2 off to DS(12) basketball game...back by 3:15 and cleaned up a bit more before I host my grandmother's Sweetheart Valentine's Day party she's throwing for all of her Grandchildren and Greatgrandchildren! By 6:30 everyone is gone, we are finishing homework, setting out clothes for monday and packing backpacks...and we breath!

Wanna join us!
