What type of nursing schools can I get into if I get a C in Physiology

Published

So I am taking physiology for the 2nd time. M (21) currently taking classes at a community college to transfer to a nursing program  I still have 1 lab and ! lecture exam to do, and about 76% right. I still can get a b in the class, but I am just feeling frustrated right now because I worked hard in the class, and I need with c after taking it two times. I am not sure What sure what nursing programs will accept me . Not sure if retake again for a 3rd time if I do get a C since some programs only allow 1 retake (so I heard but I am just frustrated right now and really unsure about my future in being to get into a nursing program

Acceptance into other programs all depends on their requirements. Some schools (maybe even fewer now) do a lottery system where if you meet the overall minimum pre/core-requisite GPA requirements, you are guaranteed in at some point. I think most community colleges nowadays have the points system where basically the more points (based on things like GPA, experience, etc) you have the more likely you will get in. Most of the points are from GPA followed by HESI/TEAS test scores from what I remember.

I hope you make it through and get into that program you are trying to get into; however, if you are unable to, I recommend looking at other programs around your area (but also further out) and see what their entry requirements are. I was in your shoes many years ago. I got a B in anatomy, B in microbio, and a C in physio and it barely gave me the minimum core-requisite to apply for my program. Luckily at the time, it was the lottery system. Right after I started the program, they switched over to the point system and I would have never gotten in or any of the other programs around me. Good luck!

What about other health care professional programs that require the same pre-requisites? Respiratory therapy, Physical Therapy Assistant, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Radiation Therapist, Radiology etc.

Everyone has turned to nursing because they see the salary, but you can also gain health care experience in rewarding careers helping others in these areas.
