Hi everyone,
I am wondering what sort of laptop would be sufficient for nursing school? I am thinking about MacBook Air or MacBook Pro so could anyone who owns them give me some pros and cons of each? I'm also open to suggestions of different types of laptops if you guys have any suggestions. Thanks :-)

I have a 2011 MacBook Pro 13"
Pros:
-I have an iPhone and iPad so can access my iCloud and files from each device.
-iBooks
-Documents made with Pages, Numbers or Keynote can be exported as PDF or corresponding Microsoft files.
-Very hard to get a virus.
-It's lasted this long.
Cons:
-Price, I guess? If you're frugal this is not the way to go but I've found the price is worth the quality.
-Not as portable as the Air but it's still a laptop, so.
Thanks for your response. Very useful as I also have an iPad and an iPhone which I could connect. I notice you said it is very hard to get a virus? Do you use any software if so what sort of software?

I would recommend getting a laptop with a touchscreen. I found it incredibly useful because I can use a digitizer pen and draw diagrams, equations, written examples, among other things. My laptop (Sony VAIO Duo 13) also turns into a tablet-mode, so I can carry it around on my one arm (which was useful for my labs).
I don't use any software but you're good as long as you don't download anything from unidentified developers and make sure you have the appropriate settings chosen in Safari (blocking cookies, pop ups unless you know the website etc.). The people who make viruses (not sure what those people are called) usually make them for Windows so that's why it's harder to get them on a Mac. Apple is a lot more secure when it comes to things like that.
Also, it's super helpful with the new updates because you can text and iMessage on your computer as easily as you can on your phone and iPad. You probably knew that but I'm still excited over it :)
Awesome thank you so much that has really helped!! Did you buy Microsoft word and PowerPoint for Mac as well?
I have seen that but haven't used it between my iPad and iPhone yet. Sounds brilliant though!
You're welcome! I'm always down to vouch for Apple products, I've had nothing but good experiences. And no, Pages and Keynote came with it they're the equivalence of Word and PowerPoint. You can export Pages and Keynote documents to PDF and/or Word and PowerPoint if necessary. They save to your computer as a copy.
Can you message privately on this site? I have a heap of questions now if you're willing to answer them? :-)
Sure, if you're able to you can go ahead and message me.
