What is the time frame for CA license to post??

Published

Hi All,

I was just trying to find out the average time people spend waiting to get their CA RN license? I graduated mid December and sat for my boards on the 16th of January. I did PVT and have had pop since testing. I know some of my classmates are receiving their licenses 48hrs after testing and tested after me. Its very frustrating because it seems that there is no rhyme or reason to who gets licensed.I am anxiously waiting! I have called and all they can tell me is to keep waiting! They said my transcripts haven't posted,(they were sent early January). So would driving and hand delivering a copy of transcripts help? Just feel like I got buried on someone's desk! Any info would be much appreciated=)

Hello Caligirl! I also live in California. I sat for NCLEX-RN on January 13, 2015 at Gardena and till today i do not have any response from Board. I am getting good pop up as well, since the first day but my name is not posted on Breeze. All my classmates got their results within 48 hours, with their names on Breeze. I trie to contact Board for 5-6 times and they never gave me definite answer. One of them was telling me my transcripts are being evaluated, the other one says they don't even have my transcripts. The third one tells me just to wait cause it takes them 3-4 weeks to post results. I don't know what else to do, should I just wait?

rmrn2015, BSN,

I'm in the same boat as you. Our stories sound very similar! I also am not sure what to do. I do not know if going there in person will help or not?! Very frustrating to see classmates getting their licenses 48hrs later, when they tested weeks after you! I am happy for them, but frustrating for me not knowing what is going on. Yeah calling them seems pretty pointless and useless. Pretty sad that the BRN has our livelihood in their hands and chose to license people randomly.

I know, this waiting is very frustrating! Even if you go there in person, i don't think they will release you any information. My hope is the PVT trick that makes me feel calmer, otherwise i am very anxious for waiting for someone lazy to evaluate and post my results.

I agree PVT is the only thing that has kept my sanity lol!!!

From what I have seen, if you got the IP, then your license posts within a week as they must evaluate your file for licensure because they're issuing you a temporary license. Once they get the results, all they have to do is just generate a permanent license for you. If you didn't go for the IP, then they will add your NCLEX results to your file and place it in the queue for processing and that can take several weeks. Some of my classmates had wait times up around 4 weeks for their license.

Hi,

I actually did purchase an IP and still have been waiting 2+ weeks. My IP is posted in Breeze, but no word on license. From what they have told me, its a matter of getting my transcripts posted to file which has not been done. This is the same for some of my classmates as well. There is a few people who actually tested at the beginning of the month and its the same issue, the BRN has not evaluated transcripts. So, seems to be a matter of who is evaluating your file?!

I did not apply for IP, i applied for permanent license.

Hi everyone

I'm also in the same boat. I took the NCLEX January 22nd, with no results yet posted. My school sent transcripts the 2nd week of January, because we graduated (pinning) was December 19th. I am also relying on the good pop up trick as I have already accepted a job offer -- YIKES.

From what I've been reading, it has taken them roughly 3 weeks for transcripts to be received and put into your file. Although, as you probably know, it's taken much less for some and longer for others. I wish there was some rhyme or reason about how they process applications!

Lets keep each other updated and find comfort in the pop up trick!!!
