Joyce Echaquan, a member of the Atikamekw tribe, was admitted to Joliette hospital in Quebec for stomach pains. After she alleged she was being overdosed with morphine, she began filming. Nurses said in French “You’re stupid as hell”, “You made some bad choices, my dear”, “What are your children going to think, seeing you like this?” “She’s good at having sex, more than anything else,” and “Who do you think is paying for this?”

I've spent a lot of time in Quebec (mostly Montreal). I've never seen a First Nations person (at least identifiable by ethno-features) represented in the work force. Only down-and-out and on the streets.

Canada has a reputation for being "kinder and gentler" than the US, but they've sure got some work to do.
