Biden is concerned about inflation and high gas prices so is hesitant. His poll numbers are already bad. So inflation and gas prices go up and Biden gets blamed for that. It also plays into their hands because they want him to reverse some of his policies about domestic production.
Biden still hasn't done what he should have. Legislation shouldn't be needed. A leader makes the tough decisions necessary for the good of the country. He's failing.

Thank you for the link. Trump wanted his hotels built in Russia. That was the basis of his relationship with Putin - merely advancing his own business interests above the interests of the US citizens. This is what happens when we elect a self-claimed "businessman" narcissist instead of a leader. Harry Truman was a businessman who actually got it that leading a nation is not the same as running a business.

It seems to me that russian oil is going to be increasingly difficult to import anyway, regardless of the ban but a ban will insure that none gets through. American oil production was projected to increase before Putin lost his mind so maybe the current crisis will stimulate even more production. Marathon is the largest importer of Russian oil but they are not saying much about their intentions. Other companies are making statements or taking action in response to the violence in Ukraine.
On a side note, the Permanent Fund in Alaska that pays each Alaska resident for staying in state all year is invested in Russian gas and oil. We are likely to feel the pinch in more than just high prices on everything. Additionally, all this talk from Putin about how Ukraine is just an old part of Russia that's being restored is making some Alaskans nervous. There have long been rumors and whispers about how the Russian government viewed the exchange as a lease rather than a sale of the Alaska territory. It gets some folks up here really riled up.
Can Russia see us from their kitchens?:)

That's the opinion of Trump favoring republicans but not the rest of the world, relative to Biden's handling Putin's crazy aggression and objectives.

Waters has plenty of company when it comes to political corruption. She has gotten lots of heat from republicans for paying family to do work in her campaign, that seems ironic doesn't it. Boebert hasn't been around long enough to play out her capacity for corruption. She's clearly demonstrated that she doesn't have much in the way of ethics or critical thinking so it's likely just a matter of time.
It seems so unlikely that you really want to have a discussion about evidence of corruption in political leadership.

All is forgiven.

Rep. Maxine Waters has been reborn at the age of 78, emerging as a folk hero to the anti-Trump resistance for her repeated torching of the president.
From the glowing coverage and partisan praise, you’d barely detect that just a few years ago the veteran California congresswoman was dubbed one of the nation’s “most corrupt” elected officials by the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington for her role in pushing a bailout for a bank tied to her family.

I like my BF's take on Beobert. I was telling him about the hacking which he didn't know about. Evidently it's not big news, and it shouldn't be, and he's a news junkie. He said "Beobert is a right winger but isn't crazy, but MTG is flat our insane."
He agree with me that Pelosi was unprofessional in ripping Trump's speech but called her "the Patron Saint of Shade". LOL
Fox News of course picked up on the liberal hypocrisy of excusing Pelosi and not the hecklers.

I would agree with that analysis on those three. Especially Pelosi...LOL
MTG needs to be marched out from her office never to come back, she's a special kinda psycho...Boebert needs someone to pull her aside and let her know that she needs to cool it before she ends up in the same boat. Pelosi, like many in her age group-and regardless of political party, need to be voted out/retire. We need new blood in both parties with new ideas. These old timers aren't producing new ideas to the new problems facing society today. But back to Pelosi's professionalism, she should know better. Patron Saint of Shade...I about spit out my coffee ?

Boebert and MTG are the new blood representing conservatives in their states. There are more...
I wouldn't say that Boebert is crazy but she's not exactly functioning at peak cognitive levels. Her history of questionable choices is kind of long for a young woman. My family in Colorado wonder if there is something in the water in that part of the state that would lead to her elevation to the national stage.

Don't drink the water, don't marry their daughters. I've lived in a few places like that but still don't understand how people don't recognize a defective when they hear one.

That's the question...why can't they recognize the disqualifying behavior and attitudes? Is likely because they are voting from agitated and emotional manipulation in the messaging of the political candidates of the area. Most likely the loudest person exciting the base emotions of the conservative voters won their support. Just like with Trump, the conservative voters were willing to abandon family values, intelligence and altruism for Us v Them animus and anger. It's embarrassing to witness so many Americans get played by charlatans.

It wasn't just liberals who were scared of 4 more years of Trump; some Republicans were too. You can't compare Waters to Beobert. Waters was abrasive but Boebert as aligned herself with violence with her support of private armories and the criminals who showed up on January 6 to provoke physical harm to others. Unlike Waters, Beobert displays no ability to make a cogent argument even ONCE because she is defective. And BTW, not all anti-looney Republicans are "liberals" unless you mean it in the broadest sense of the word as people who are open to new ideas after an application of intellectual reasoning.
