Can you tell me how much they were and what they were called

Specializes in ICU.

I don't remember the cost, but I know it was over $100. We used "Principles of Anatomy and Physiology," Tenth ed. by Tortora and Grabowski.

I liked it!

This is a link to the one I used http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0471415014/sr=8-3/qid=1144164795/ref=pd_bbs_3/104-6762962-4396718?%5Fencoding=UTF8

But they have an 11th ed. now too.

Specializes in Operating Room.

Marieb "Human Anatomy & Physiology" 6th edition....this was a year ago now, though. Who knows what they're using now.

Price...over $100 for the lecture book, then I had to get the lab manual all for A&P 1. For A&P 2, I used the same lecture book, but because I went to a different campus, they required a different lab manual. :uhoh3:

All schools are different. You may be better off finding an email address to the head A&P professor and finding out about the book to be used for the appropriate semester you need.

Good luck! :balloons:

We were given the choice between the Marieb and the Tortora & Grabowski textbooks. I used Marieb (over $100) and I found it to be helpful. However, our professor made a wonderful lecture book that I used way more often than the textbook.

Specializes in Maternity, quality.

Ours was Hole's Human Anatomy & Physiology, both the text and the lab manual. I think I bought them through Amazon and was able to get new books for ~$80 for the text and ~$60 for the lab book (I later had my dad sell the lab manual on half.com since we never really used it).

Specializes in Cardiac Care.

We used Martini's Fundamentals of Anatomy and Physiology 7th ed for lecture, and Marieb's Human Anatomy and Physiology Laboratory Manual 8th ed for labs. The school sold them bound together, new, for over $200. I know that's a lot of money, but these books were wonderful and well worth it. Several CD-ROMS were included, and the books are well written and illustrated. They're keepers!

Specializes in Med Surg/Tele/ER.

(2nd/3rd edition) Saladin's Anatomy & Physiology The Unity of Form & Function. I bought mine used....cheap.

Specializes in Med/Surg, Hospice.

Hole's Essentials of Anatomy & Physiology: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/007256038X/sr=8-2/qid=1144181811/ref=sr_1_2/104-0037687-6713567?%5Fencoding=UTF8

For lab we use a book that was last printed in 1981 and is now out of print, but the school keeps buying back and re-selling the same old ones over and over. I got mine for cheap at half.com

Rust Manual of Anatomy

Specializes in Oncology, OR.

I have Marieb's Human Anatomy and Physiology 6th Edition. New cost about $125 but I got it for less than $100 through the Amazon.com Marketplace (brand new). We also use the A.D.A.M. lab book and software, I can't remember the retail price but I also got it for a great discount through Amazon.

Human Anatomy and Physiology by Seely, Stevens and Tate. This was the text for my class and plus my teacher..Dr.Stevens, help write the book. I brought Frank Netter atlas on my own for lab(the pics are great) These books are under 100. I also brought a pathophysiology book that is good for diseases, which was another required text. You could probably go to a Barnes and Nobles bookstore but I got mine at my school bookstore.

Principles of Anatomy and Physiology by Tortora and Derrickson. 11th Edition. It was $180, if I remember correctly. For lab we use my instructor's lab book (black binder.. it was $3.50), and Mammalian Anatomy: The Cat by Sebastiani (2nd Edition). I think it was less than $15.
