What`s the best NCLEX review book for students at HACC?

Published

I bought the Saunder`s NCLEX prep book but now that I look at it it doesn`t correspond with anything that we are going over in class- i was hoping to supplement my reading with this so that I would be prepared to take the exams in class.. however we are going over "young adult" right now and the different diseases they are inflicted with now but it doesn`t have specific sections. Is there a textbook which helped to prepare for tests in class-- preferably I would like to hear from HACC students, but if your not i could still take your input. Thanks in advance!

HACC as in Harrisburg? try posting in PA forums for HACC specific stuff.. are you in first semester? I found that nclex books didnt really help with fundamentals and came in handy more in 2nd semester and after when we were studying specific disease processes.. does your text book have questions in it? is there a workbook that goes with your textbook? We used fundamentals by Taylor and there was a really good workbook with tons of questions in it..

most nclex review books cover the same info, just with different questions so if saunders isnt coinciding with what youre learning, another one probably wont either.. good luck!

I`m second semester. Thanks for the suggestions-- i had no idea there was a PA forum, I`ll post there. HACC is not just in Harrisburg, there are several campuses all over the state. The text we have now is potter and perry, chapman (maternal-newborn), med-surg (Ignativicuius). Potter and Perry is useless for nclex review questions, and there aren't enough in the med-surg book and I didn`t see any companion versions for these books. I`m kind of bummed that I got this Nclex review and I have no idea how to do any of it-- there`s a waste of money (at least for now, maybe later I`ll be able to use it before I take the test).. :)
