What to do with a nursing degree

I just graduated from nursing, and am now working almost full time hours in an acute care hospital. I enjoy it, but I have always felt that I want to work more on the research side of things. Nursing is my only degree, so I don't have a BSc in Biology or Chem, which I have been told is necessary. What can I do with a nursing degree? How difficult would it be to transition into something like biomedical science, for example?

About the only thing you can do with a nursing degree is be a nurse, either actively practicing or in administration. I have seen some few nurses who were in the right place at the right time transition somewhat out of the nursing role, but those situations are few and far between.

P.S. Congrats on your job!

Nurses have worked in pharmaceutical research studies (for pharm companies). Don't know how selective they are today.
