I just read that nursing students have to take the natinal league of nurses exam. I am applying to nursing school in Feb. and I have not heard anything about it. I am in La.:imbar

It's sort of like an ACT geared toward nursing readiness. Check out a bookstore and they should have a study guide for the NLN. It's a good book that will help you understand the sort of questions on the test.
It's sort of to test your preparation with regard to science, math and reading comprehension. I took it in October. I heard some people say it was much harder than they expected. I found it to be surprisingly easy.
Wish I had studied the book more and concentrated on math. I scored a 93% overall, but math pulled me down as I had a 99% without it.
When is the test supposed to be taken? Like I said, I am (hopefully) starting nursing school in August, and I have not heard anything about it.

Aside from an entrance exam, it is one of the frequently asked questions on this site :chuckle
Here are a few links that will help answer your question:

I invite you to visit the pre-nursing secton of the site. You will find many useful sites there as well. You will need to get ahold of the NLN pre-entrance exam second edition study guide by Mary E. McDonald to help you prepare for it. Good luck on your exam. :)
You should be able to contact the school you are applying to, they should have dates when it will be given. Also, you may consider applying to more than one school at a time if you really want to get in by a certain time. That way if you don't get into your first choice, you can go somewhere else if time is important to you. Just a thought. It wasn't something I thought about and had taken all my prereqs so would have had a bunch of time on my hands, had I not gotten into my ONLY choice. :chuckle I'm kind of limited in where I can go, because I have two small kids.
