What is it like being on the waiting list for RPN?

Published

I am applying for RPN in Sheridan College and Humber. Already took the HOAE in Sheridan and I am currently in the waiting list. Is it still possible to get a spot in Sheridan or is it already hopeless if I am on the waiting list?

I haven't done my Humber admission test but i will soon. I heard it's harder than Sheridan so I am basing my Sheridan results wether there is a possibility I can pass the admission test in Humber. Most of my friends who graduated last year didn't get into RPN on either Sheridan or Humber which is why I am not confident on how I would do.

My midterm marks are all 80+ and i know they don't base everything on the Marks. I dont have any second options for the program im applying because I really want to be in the Nursing program.

Do you guys have any advice about the waiting list?

How hard is the HOAE for Humber?

I also plan to do the bridging after the RPN for RN. Is it better to do it in Humber and any advice?

Please bear with me because I have only been in Canada for a year so I really don't know what to expect from the Colleges here. Thank you.

If your plan is to bridge after the RPN program, I would recommend Humber. Humber has a bridge program that only accepts Humber RPN graduates. There is also the 2nd entry program but you need to have attended university.

If you do not mind going out of GTA for nursing, then you should apply to RPN at Algonquin college at Pembroke campus is still open for applicants and average requirement for acceptance is must lower than schools in GTA . Also the BSCN for RN is also open and average requirement of 75% is much lower than other universities. Everyone writes the same NCLEX test so actually does not matter which school you get your degree.
