My likes are that I love that I am going to be a Nursing student.
My dislikes that the bio classes are hard but I know it's worth it. I wish I could be considered a Nursing Student already!

I think the thing I hated most was waiting to be a nursing student. I just wanted to get ON with it! :) It's hard to be patient. Then there's the application process...
I enjoyed learning a lot about the body. I'd been a hospital corpsman, so I'd learned a lot of "see this, do this," but my prereqs taught me a lot of the WHYS of what I'd been taught to do. It was neat putting the puzzle together.

Yes, I agree that waiting is the hardest part. Still have about 2 weeks for my letter. I thoroughly enjoy biology classes. Did micro, A&P I and II, advanced physio, and am now doing a neuro bio class online and loving it. This is a free class through cousera. I don't get any credit but it is fascinating. I love biology.

Good day, giraffe4:
I enjoyed the journey of learning how to learn and apply myself (I started my prerequisites when I was age 50). I disliked the pressure of a point system our school uses. While it is a motivational force to get an "A" in every single class (whether you get points for the particular class or not as the GPA also contributes points), for some classes that had few tests, you would go into the final wondering if you blew the "A" for which you came into the final. It was a lot of pressure.
Thank you.

The impatience of having to wait to be an "official" nursing student. However, after you do get that letter, the feeling is amazing! You feel more accomplished and feel like your finally getting somewhere. It all seems worth it now that I got my acceptance letter. I feel great now. I can't imagine how great I will feel after I complete the program and graduate. I'm so excited to get started!

For me, I basically hated the non-science pre-reqs. I'm in the BSN program and I just couldn't stand taking ENG, COM and SOC. I just felt like they were filler classes. But I sucked it up, learned a lot and aced them all. I also hated waiting to know if I got into the program. Now that I know, it makes suffering through two semesters of pre-req classes MUCH better! I loved my CHM, A&P, Micro, and Nutrition classes. I learned so much in them and loved my professors! Good luck with your pre-nursing classes. They may seem tedious, but you'll have the best base to your education if you study hard and persevere. Don't study to get an A, study to be the best nurse you can be!

Those filler classes are my least favorite part also. I haven't reached the point of waiting on my letter yet, but the countdown UNTIL I can apply is pretty bad too!

Dislike: The biggest thing I found annoying was that as soon as someone asked what you were studying, and you said nursing, they'd say something like, "Wait, are you actually IN a program?" Also, A LOT of the actual nursing students at my old school very fairly rude and acted as though they were better than everyone else. I also really didn't like the slackers who wanted to study with me but then would only gossip.
Like: I now know how to say "no" to people who want to study with me, but do not have similar attitude and commitment. I also really liked the rigor of the courses. Before switching majors, I was an English and Political Science double major. All of the classes were easy A's with little to no prep or studying. I got very bored, very quickly. In the science courses, I was intrigued and HAD to study to make an A. I slacked off a lot in A&P II and Micro and didn't study, got a B in both, and now I am re-learning A&P II. I am kick myself, but lesson learned. Now I know that I have to study everyday and learn everything the first time around.
I start my program in the fall and I absolutely cannot wait!!!

Pros:
-My schedule and school are fantastic as far as learning material.
-I get to take a CNA course for a Pre-req
-The people I study and take classes with (pre-nursing as well), we back each other up in our courses so no one falls behind.
-The wait list is 2 semesters at max.
Cons:
-The wait to get the pre-reqs over.
-The nursing program at my school is being revamped so therefore the earliest I can apply for NS is fall 2015 (If I stay full time and get my pre-reqs done without hassle). My school is adding chemistry and math requirements.
-Passing my classes.
