What jobs can I get before I pass the nclex

Published

I need a job now. I haven't passed the nclex yet but i need to work.

What jobs go with a nursing degree for someone who isn't an RN?

Specializes in CCU, SICU, CVICU.

What hospitals will hire someone with an RN license? I mean, ideally none. You aren't licensed to practice.

Portland is a ridiculously competitive job market for nurses, so if that's your location, you probably won't be considered at all. I hear the rural/coastal hospitals are in huge need of nurses, so check there? More importantly, just take your boards ASAP! You are not entitled to a nursing job just because you graduated nursing school You need to get licensed, that's why we are REGISTERED nurses.

Specializes in NICU.

PCA, CNA, unit secretary, housekeeping, food service.

Sorry,

I did not explain my question clearly enough. What I mean to ask is what types of jobs are there for someone with a nursing degree that is NOT nursing.

Apply for any job that you do not need a nursing license for. Be prepared to answer the question that arises about why you aren't licensed, seeking a nursing job. Prepare for rejection. Employers don't want to hire someone who won't be around for long, unless that is what they are looking for, a temporary employee.

I mean, you asked "what jobs go with a nursing degree for some who isn't an RN." That's a much different question than you just specified but the answer is still the same. Nothing. If you have a nursing degree, you need a license to practice in any aspect of nursing. You can work in any unlicensed faction of work, but the question is why? If you have a nursing degree, just take your boards.
