What do I look for when interviewing for LTC position?

Published

As obvious as this question/answer may be to some, I am interviewing for a PRN position for a LTC facility - there are 2 positions she wants to meet with me for - one is working on a unit, the other in a management type role - both are PRN. I have a high interest in working in geriatrics but have always been hesitant...I have read the medicare reviews for the facilities around where I live - they are all terrible - I also read some on places where I use to live that I know were good facilities - they were lousy too - so I know that is not a good indicator...the obvious of how residents look, cleanliness of the facility, staff ratios I know to look for/ask about but is there anything else that would alert me to the facility being a good or not? I have no experience within this arena of nursing at all....
