What should I know or learn before I take A&P1?

Published

I'm already registered to take A&P1 in summer. It will be an 8 week course. I'm pretty stressed out about it, and half considering dropping it until fall. I bought my books Monday, and I was hoping to look over them and try to prepare myself the best that I can before class starts.

Just wondering if there were any tips or tricks...or just general advice. It would be greatly appreciated! Has anyone else done a summer anatomy and physiology class? Anyone taking it this summer?

Hello,

I took A&P 1 in the summer of last year along with microbiology, and to be honest it wasn't that difficult. I loved the fact that the class A&P went by supper fast and we had a test every 2 weeks because it gave me more of a reason to study and not slack off. The practical aren't that bad either, once you pay attention in lecture you should be fine in lab because everything intertwines. However, I must say the two most difficult sections for myself was the muscles and the bones. Definitely pay close attention to those two sections!!!!

You should start reading too, this gives you a better understanding of the class for sure. you can also email your professor for the summer class and ask for the syllabus a head of time, also if he or she doesn't have the 2016 syllabus ask for 2015 syllabus because nothing really changes for that class. That's what I did and it worked out wonderful for me :) & and I'm pretty sure you'll be fine just have confidence, faith & work hard #goodluck

You could email your professor to see if they would send you a list of the anatomy you will have to learn. That way you can at least be familiar with all of it which would make the physiology easier. That and read ahead in the text but I would only do that if you know the professor actually uses the book. Most of my science profs made their own power points, we did little with the books.
