Just curious what different hospitals do for this week, if anything.
At ours, we usually get one free meal and a token little gift like a calculator or a pen.
Well, I want more than that! Any ideas on how our workplaces can cater to us?:balloons:

We don't even get the free meal! Last year it was a coffee mug filled with little goodies.
that's sad. These hospitals need to look and sound like they appreciate their nurses. I think one year we did get a massage therapist...where you sit in a chair...it was nice. That happened once and all nurses did not get a chance to get one. How about if they just give us a little bonus on our paycheck?

It's hospital week, and nurses DAY, and my answer is nothing for the nurses, but they are having daily stuff for the hospital in general.
Oh yes, and an employee recognition dinner for $15 a plate, including for the employees.

Yikes! I guess I shouldn't complain too much!
For Emergency Nurses Week our manager genuinely tries, but for Nurses Week the hospital is a little chintzy. The last place I worked each employee got a free turkey at Christmas as a bonus. The place I'm at now, as much as I love it, used to give everyone a little jeweled pin. You could tell how long someone had been working there by how many pins they had on their badge. Now we don't even get that.

We got cd holders with coupons 15% off Dennys and 4.99 at Hometown Buffet. The Medical staff donated money, they had drawings for some really nice stuff. One nurse won a 260.00 watch!

We have to have the cheapest owners EVER... since payday is today, each employee got to draw from a box, if you got a star on your slip of paper then you got one of the 4-packs of vanilla wafers we give to diabetics. Out of 200 employees, there were 20 stars.
Hooray.

We got license plate holders here with the hospital's name on it. However, they gave them out on two different day shifts. For those of us who work odd shifts - we didn't get an opportunity to pick them up.

We are getting a pepermint, yeah. We even got a memo for the peppermint.
Lovely!
Sounds like these hospitals need some work on how to treat nurses! I always hate it, too when they cater to day shift. I've always worked evenings and nights.
