What happens if I don't finish my nurse residency?

I'm in my first year and I'm quickly realizing that I don't have time for the nurse residency meetings. What happens if I don't finish it?

If it is required by your employer, they can terminate your employment. However, if it is required, then your employer needs to make sure that you are able to attend.

I would seek clarification from the residency coordinator on requirements and expectations. My facility has strict rules:

residency is paid time, and included in the FTE

residents cannot be scheduled night shift before residency

residents cannot miss more than 2 sessions
