Hello Everyone,
I was wondering if it worth me moving or staying in New York. Some Community colleges would allow you to get in with a 2.5, than there others that I don't even think about. You have to have a 3.8 or higher. I want to move to Charlotte, however if the GPA is like 3.5 or higher I better stay where I'm at. Then I'll move latter, but I love NC but I need help on this decision.

CPCC the CC in Charlotte doesn't go by GPA per se, they go by a point system.
Go here and check out the application - http://www.cpcc.edu/Nursing%5FHuman%5FServices/Nursing/default.htm

Hi SuperMo. I'll be relocating to the Charlotte area at the start of the new year. I finish my LPN in September and I was wondering if you could tell me where the LPN jobs in and around Charlotte are. Thanks for your help.

EvinsAngel,
I know for certain that Presbyterian Hospital, in the Novant Health system, hires LPNs on the floor with a large scope of practice.
I cannot speak to the other hospital system in Charlotte, Carolinas Healthcare.
Good Luck!

Generally, for admission in Community colleges you need to have at least a 2.0 - 2.5. You have to pass every course with at least a "C" and that includes all prequisites and nursing classess. A 2.0 is all that is required to graduate. However, I suggests you shoot for the moon with everything that you can. After all C's = RN. I did really well in my prequisite classes (A's andB's), made 1 B in nursing classes, the rest were C's. And I passed my NCLEX-RN on the first with minimal review. In the end I had like a 2.8 GPA. After I started nursing school with a 3.47.

I would say the market is VERY competitive in Charlotte. From what I have heard/experienced, most places don't take much of anything below a 3.0, the lowest I've heard is a 3.3 at most schools. Just as someone else has posted, CPCC has a point system. You should visit their website. http://www.cpcc.edu. (they are currently accepting applications for Fall '07 deadline is in Dec.) Most of the points are given for work experience/volunteer experience. I called them yesterday and the lady told me that is what carries the most weight. I would try presbyterian as well. They admit 100 students for the fall, and 50 for the spring. I think it's pretty competitive there too. For most of the school here, its a case by case thing.
Good luck in whatever you decide.
