What would you consider a bedfast patient?

Would you consider a patient that cannot transfer out of bed on their own to be bedfast? For example if they required assistance transferring to a chair.

I'd they can get in a chair I consider them chair fast. If they can walk to the bathroom but only with assistance, they are an assist. Etc.

Per OASIS guidelines, if a patient can tolerate being up in a chair, even if they must be transferred via hoyer lift, they are chairfast.
