I'm currently working in a small critical access hospital. We do not have policy on what would happen if your central monitor systems goes down. I'm trying to make a policy on this for when state surveyors come in, we know what to do. Does anyone have any idea?

Do you also have monitors on display on your units?

If our central monitoring system in the ICU goes down, each individual monitor stores the vital sign data, you can go into the bedside monitor and print vitals for the desired interval to manually enter into the EMR. Hope that helps.
