Can LPN's start IV's? I know they can't push meds in an IV.... Just curious. :monkeydance:

Your best source would be your state board of nursing. At the gray toolbar at the top of the page, click on 'Links' then 'Boards of Nursing.'

I was a LPN before I became a RN. I work at several hospital and was expected to start IV, but couldn't push medication or hang certain solutions like heparin and KCL.We could only hand antibotics and saline soultions.
