My high school GPA was not very good. I think it might've been around 2.8, much lower than I was capable of, but I was going through an awful lot those years. I went to a community college for two years right after high school, and my cumulative GPA is now around 3.5, and I was accepted into my school's LPN program very fast with no wait, and I was also accepted into a local college's BSN program this upcoming spring. I chose the LPN program (I started 4 weeks ago) for various reasons although I do still intend on getting my BSN.
If you are worried about your GPA I would recommend going to a local college for your nursing prerequisites, because it is a good way to show them that you are serious about the nursing program, and you are capable of doing it.
Good luck!
Well I just decided I wanted to go into Nursing this past spring and I got accepted on my first shot of applying. I have been out of high school for 5 years now and when I graduated I was top ten in my class. The 2 years that I have went to college before pursing a major, I took several pre-req classes and I had a cumulative GPA when accepted was a 3.7. If your not comfortable try going to a local community college first and take pre-reqs for nursing. Good Luck :)

Hi Everyone,
Currently, I am upgrading my high school pre-requisites in the hopes of getting accepted into the RN nursing program where I live (Regina, SK). However, daily I get anxiety thinking that my grades will never be good enough.
What were your grades when you were accepted (within the last 5 years) and how many years did you have to wait until you were accepted.
Thanks in advance :)
