What Are The Usual CNA Shifts?

Most hosptials have 7am to 7pm and 7pm to 7am.

It really depends on the facility, and what type of work you decide to do as a CNA. In LTC & assisted living facilities (ALFs), they usually go by 8 hour shifts: 7-3, 3-11,11-7 or 6-2, 2-10, 10-6. In hospitals, some of them will also use 8 hour shifts, but most of the ones that I know of use 12 hour shifts: 7am-7pm, 7pm-7am or 8am-8pm, 8pm-8am.. Now if you consider working in home health, those hours will vary. For example, I worked in home health for about 6 months. One of my cases was from 8am-1pm, and from 8am-6pm on weekends. Another one was from 1pm-5pm. Some cases will be live-in help, meaning you may live with them for 7 days, and then have 7 days off.

Most facilities in my area have 6-2, 2-10, and 10-6. The couple of places that offer 12 hour shifts are 6-6.

I work in a hospital. Our shifts are 12 hours; 6:15am to 6:45pm and the reverse.

You could, in fact a couple of my classmates did so. But I wanted to get the hang of one facility, and their procedures, before I did any type of agency work.
