Good day fellow nurses!

I am interested in attending WGU for my RN to BSN. I have yet to speak with an enrollment councelor and hope to do so in the next few days. I am a member of a very large union in the NYC area. They offer tuition reimbursment. I attended a workshop today and quckly asked if they were familar with WGU. They were not. I plan on obtaining info regarding WGU to an educational councelor for review. Has anyone had any exoierence with this with thier own union or job reimbursing for WGU? Thank you!!!!

I've gotten tuition reimbursement from my hospital for my WGU degrees- and the school will actually communicate with your union to 'splain it to them.

My hospital also reimburses WGU. It has all the right accreditations and I haven't had a problem with reimbursement at all.

I can not get tuition reimbursement from my employer due to the fact that they do not give letter grades, it's either pass/fail. So, I am paying out of pocket.

And that is a valid concern. The reason my corporation pays for WGU is that they are certified by all the right people. Otherwise, we have the same rule against reimbursement without letter grades. It might be worth talking to your institution about it. Maryjean's (aw, I'm sure she's nice and not mean at all ;)) suggestion about having WGU talk to your people is a good one--and might save you a lot of money!
