Hi guys!,

After knocking out the vast majority of my MSN classes August through September 2016, I hit a brick wall trying to complete the field experience. Needless to say, I quit the program with only the field experience and capstone to go October 2016. I re-enrolled and started where I left off November of this year. I'm so happy (and relieved) to say I finished my last task this morning and now can finally put the initials MSN behind my name! I'm so happy I went back to complete my degree; if I hadn't, I would have always wondered, 'What if?' Now I'm pondering whether or not to continue for my doctorate. If I do, I won't start until Fall 2018. I need another break!

Just wanted to share my good news, guys. If you have any questions at all about my experience in the program, feel free to ask.

What did you do for your field experience/capstone?

If I could ask, what was the issue with the field work? Did you continue to have trouble with this? Congrats on your accomplishments! I plan to enroll asap for the same program. Just worried about cost and length of time.

The title of my capstone was Empowering Nurses to Obtain A BSN, in which I make the case that all staff nurses at the hospital where I performed my project would have better outcomes if all of their staff nurses had a baccalaureate at minimum.

Well, for me, it was lot of things. First, I had trouble finding a preceptor that would guide me through the implementation of the project. Then, I had trouble with task 1 of the field experience , which was kind of like a plan or outline of what the project would be about and how it would be implemented. All these difficulties caused me to withdraw in October 2016. Had I not withdrawn, I would have finished the whole program in about 3.5 months.

Now the field experience/capstone has been revised, I believe, so you will have a different version of it then I had.
