As mentioned in the thread's title, I fulfilled the remaining requirements for my BSN degree from this afternoon. My journey took a little more than 10 months from start to finish, required the completion of 34 credits, and cost approximately $5,800 due to a prorated second term.

Feel free to ask any questions that come to mind.

Yay, congrats!

How much do they prorate the tuition if you have less than 12 units a semester? It's looking like I may finish partway into my second semester.

WGU prorates under the assumption that a full-time term equates to exactly 12 credits. As you already know, each six-month term costs a flat rate of $3,250 in tuition.

$3,250 divided by 12 credits = $270.83 per credit

I entered my second term with seven remaining credits to complete. I was charged for seven credits at $270.83 per credit, so my prorated second term cost approximately $1895.81 in tuition instead of 's customary flat rate of $3250.

Is there any way to know before hand how long the program will approximately take? I get tuition reimbursement of 3000 a year, and I have thought about obtaining an MSN through .

It's pretty individual. Several people have finished the MSN in one term recently, but two terms is more realistic for most people. It would still probably be the least expensive MSN around, tho. :)

Specializes in Emergency, Case Management, Informatics.

Question: How does it feel to have earned a CCNE- and regionally-accredited BSN in (probably) less time and for far less money than your local university? ;)

Congrats on your success. Now, on to your MSN!
