West Coast University January 2020

Any one starting West Coast University in January 2020. I’ll be going to Orange County campus. Any tips/advice welcomed ?

I was taking into consideration attending the Orange county campus and the school overall. but i think it is extremely expensive. Don't get me wrong i am still thinking about it. if i don't get accepted to a community college then i will definitively go back to west coast being my option.

I am excited for you though!

@karengalvez I agree with you it is crazy expensive but fortunately for me I won’t be paying that much. Tuition went down because I have all my general education classes done while I was going to community college and fafsa will also be helping me but you should definitely leave it as an option ? Good luck! ??

@Eolivares0817 omg thank you for letting me know that !!
I also finished all my prerequisites and actually I am done with even statistics I took them all at el Camino college so your saying it will be cheaper? Definitely something to look into thank you for letting me know! I am going to schedule an apt!!

@karengalvez yes they will take your transcripts and let you know if they go through and it’ll lower your tuition by a lot especially if you qualify for fafsa and cal grants. ?

I’m starting at the north Hollywood campus In January

Hello John,

I moved from the Bayarea to OC, it has been 4 months. They give you a couple courses in the beginning that are all online. The FYS meets 3 times. So if you're able to commute from SD you'd save a lot of $. I wish I knew this before hand because I've just been hanging out in front of my computer doing online courses. Wish you best of luck.

Hi, Im planning to apply for Summer June start. I was wondering how the application works to get accepted and how does transferring credits work? If no one minds answering. Thanks

I just went to an information session yesterday, how much did they end up quoting you in total?

To start the application process you first need to go to an information session. I found this to be a total waste of time as you can find a lot of the info online and the person hosting my info session didn't know a lot, but you have to according to the school. Once complete, you will need to take the HESI or TEAS. Once that is complete, you will meet with an advisor & need to provide all of your transcripts. At that time, you will fill out a very long online application and then schedule a meeting with Financial Aid.

Based on my experience, I'd recommend applying early. I called end of September and was told the January class was full for LA and Ontario.

Their evaluation of transcripts is really slow. I turned everything in in October and was told that I would not hear anything back on what transferred until after January. You can get an idea of what will transfer based on their transfer evaluation : https://tes.collegesource.com/publicview/TES_publicview01.aspx?rid=af5b7235-ec8f-4f03-bf67-a934bc2f9639&aid=365848d2-c2a5-47f5-82f3-6f23a5a280da
