I was scrolling on Reddit and one question that came up was, “What are your high school bullies doing now?”. Interestingly many said that their hs bullies are now nurses. Do you think the nursing profession attracts former bullies? How many of you were bullies in high school?

Not me, I was one of the bullied because the school bullies didn't like my hair or my style (I was "punk/grunge" in the 80s, with shaved hair and retro clothes that I bought second-hand). I was a nerdy, AP class introvert.
I have NO IDEA what my bullies are doing now, 30+ years later. Brooke Brown and Kristi Bergman, are you out there?

Interesting question, one that supposes that people have sufficient insight to recognize that they were bullies...

Some people might be aware that they were bullies now that they are older. Maybe you teased people for their appearance or maybe you tied someone’s shoelaces together or maybe you slandered someone. Fess up!

I wasn't a bully and if someone tried to bully me I eventually stood up to them and they would back off. One boy in High School kept teasing me in Spanish class about something. Ignoring him didn't work, so finally one day I turned to him when he was teasing me and "At least I'm not fat like you are!" (He was overweight)
Now I'm not into pointing out that people are overweight normally, but in this case it was the magic bullet. I learned an important lesson that bullies usually have something that they are very sensitive about, and to look for their achilles heel and go for it and then they will leave you alone. That boy never teased me again.

Davey, I really must have misunderstood those song lyrics all these years. I thought that line was "...you don't mess around with Jim". haha

I do think nursing attracts bullies, just like police and military can because they want power
HOWEVER - I don't think they last as nurses and go on to do other things

No one is going to admit being a bully. They never see themselves as the problem.
I was bullied all through school but not as an adult. I have taught others how to treat me better.

I hung around those I liked, ignored the ones I didn't, and was way too wrapped up in having a good time to bully others.

I was not a bully - loved everyone - and was never really bullied. I was teased in Sunday School when I was about 7, but that was it. I witnessed plenty of bullying. Just was never a part of it - one way or the other.
