Just wondering if everyone else is as burn out and ready for summer as I am???:uhoh3: :uhoh21: :uhoh3: :uhoh21:

What are you guys doing this summer? I am going to be dieting, moving, and playing with my kids......weeeeeeeeeee!:lol2:

I am going to be working full time, to save money so that I can quit my job during nursing school

Volunteering at a local hospital, for exposure to the lifestyle of nursing

Programming my PDA, so I won't have to lug around alot of books

Planning my sons' "Thomas and Friends" birthday party in July

Working out and drinking water so that I can get rid of my baby fat and not have kidney stones(I was never a water drinker so I have to start)

Finally, I will try to keep my head in the books so that I won't go back to school with a vegetable brain!!

Me too! I am taking a break! Gonna be moving, and playing with kids. I have been going full time and a half since last spring with no breaks I took 3 summer classes last year and I need a time OUT! Or a sabaticle or something.

I already applied to my BSN program, so I am in stress level 9 to pull out 2 A's by the end of this semester so I get accepted.

I pray for the strength and wisdom to get my A's every night, but who knows in the end that may not even be enough.

Anyway YES summer will be great. I probably will have jury duty though. I hear its not that bad, (Ive never had it)

I cant wait for swimming, tanning, playing at the park, ice cream cones and popsicles, tank tops and sandals!!!! yeah!!!!!

Specializes in Med-Surg/ ICU.

Finally a BREAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been working full time, and have been a full time student along with being mommy, wife and housekeeper. This summer, I am NOT working but spending time with my little girl and taking 1 chemistry class. Basically I will be laying by our pool getting a tan and eating snowballs all summer. Hallalujah!!! Now I am just waiting for my letter to see if I get in this fall:biggringi

No such break here! I just got into my program and I have to go full-time both summer sessions b/c of the program layout!! oh well, this is what I was working for!

26 days and counting until the end of the semester!!! Thank God

It has been a hard semester because the classes I am in are not pre-reqs for my ASN, but could be if I go on to BSN. I had to take something because of financial aid. So to say it was hard to make myself study is a huge understatement!

However, I have learned a lot in my Abnormal Psychology class and Sociology was interesting at times, but I will be grateful when they are finished.

Now, I found out at orientation last week that I have to take a 1 cr hour CPR & First aid class this summer (just 2 fridays and then I'm done) + it was highly recommended to take a dosage & calculations class prior to staring pharm. So I'm taking it online. Got a part-time job cleaning over the summer and plan to take the kids on a few camp-outs. Psyching myself up for the BIG ONE this fall :)

I'm waiting for the letter for the BSN program I applied to, so Fall semester is up in the air. Either way I have plans for this summer.

1. Take a CNA class.

2. Work.

3. Vacation to DC.

4. Rest my brain.

I took classes during both summer sessions last year, so I've been going nonstop since I first started prereqs last spring semester. I need the break, especially if I get in for Fall.

Malia

I work fulltime 2 hours from home, so life will continue on pretty much as it always does. Taking 2 online classes, probably Psych 101 and Developmental Psychology - it never occured to me they were both psych classes, I may switch one out with another so I have some variety.

Specializes in Med/Surg, Hospice.

I'll be taking Micro during May and June, but will have all of July off to work on the house. I want to rip out carpet, paint woodwork, and plant some shrubs.

I am doing the exact same thing! I finished my ADN pre-reqs, started taking RN-BSN pre-reqs at the CC cause it'll be cheaper and I want to keep up my full time status for FA. Knowing I don't HAVE to take these classes right now is not really helping. :uhoh3:

I HATE SOCIOLOGY. Period, nuff said.

I just got a job at a LTC working every other weekend and I'm gonna take a light course over the summer so my brain doesn't mush up. Probably statistics.... :lol2:

At least the kids won't suffer this summer like they did last year when I was carrying a load and a half!

Specializes in Operating Room.

I really am going to *TRY* to take a break this summer. If I don't I'll take Statistics. :uhoh3: (Stats is my last support course for my future RN to BSN bridge program.) I'd like to have it finished, that way after about a year of working as a nurse, I can apply straight to the program, and not have to take any 'regular' classes. (Stats has to be completed before applying in the RN-BSN bridge program at UT-Arlington.)
