Welcome NCLEX February 2011 Test Takers

Published

I did not see any thread on February 2011 support group, so I decided to form a forum for us to share our view, plan and how to pass for the test. As we all prayer for each other to continue with this journey I wish everyone who is taking NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-LVN/LPN.

Join the excellent group!

Good luck to everybody testing in February.

Here is the plan and we have a 1+month.

Here is my plan finishing the Saunders CD (fourth edition)

Do the Exam cram CD (1000 questions)

Do the NCLEX 3500 and with all the prayers to pass this NCLEX.

"Holy Spirit,

Thou make me see everything

and show me the way to reach my ideal.

You who will give the divine gift

to forgive and forget the wrong that is done to me

and who are in all instances of my life with me.

I, in this short dialogue, want to thank You for everything

and confirm once more that I never want to be separated from You

no matter how great the material desire may be.

I want to be with You and my loved ones in Your perpetual glory, Amen God please help us all.

So come on board all futures RN's and LVN's let's rock this NCLEX together.

I took the NCLEX-RN on Monday, February 14th. The second question that popped up was an alternative format question where I had to identify what was shown and know what to do about it. I also got an audio question somewhere along the way, along with tons of SATA and tons of pharm....yuck! I was pretty much guessing on every pharm question, as they were drugs that I had never heard of before. I was told that there is pretty much no use preparing for pharm questions. There are way too many drugs to memorize and chances are the questions they throw at you are not going to be the meds you know anything about. I feel that time is better spent studying strategy on answering delegation and priority questions, which seemed to be the majority of my test. I left the test thinking that there was a very slim chance that I passed. A few hours after I got home I did the pvt and got a "good pop up". I will get my quick results tomorrow...hoping the pvt really works for me! That was by FAR the most difficult test that I have ever taken. I felt extremely prepared entering the test because I felt that I understood the content and had practiced Kaplan questions over and over and did pretty well. I actually think that I over studied on content and little details. GOOD LUCK to everyone waiting on their results and to those who will be taking the NCLEX in the near future. Say many, many prayers! I'll say one for you too : )

Hi. I also live in MD. I take my test on the 22nd.

Tomorrow is my big day! I am taking the test in Harrisburg, I live in Hagerstown and didn't feel like fighting Baltimore traffic!

goodluck...ill say my prayers for you...

Hi. Could you explain the PVT pop up to me? I see everyone here talking about it. But many of my friends waited 2days and paid for results. What is the best way to calm nerves?

What you do is you go to pearson's website a couple of hours after u take ur exam and as long as it says "delivery successful" next to where it shows that you had registered for the exam you can try the PVT. So what you do is click on register on the side and basically go through the entire registration process again answering all the questions like u did the first time u registered for the nclex. Near the end u will either get the credit card screen where u need to put in ur info and pay or u will get a pop-up that says something like "Our records indicate you have already scheduled this exam please contact your board of nursing for further information". Apparently if u get the credit card screen it means u failed and if u get the pop-up it means u passed.

It's not 100% guarantee and they are not official results! However i've only heard of 1 person who got the credit card screen and actually had passed the exam rather than failed. Other than that i've talked to at least 50 people who all got the good pop-up and passed and if u look at the PVT thread on the main NCLEX discussion forum page they r doing a survey and for the most part it seems to be accurate. For me it was a good way to calm my nerves to get the pop-up and know that i more likely than not passed. However its not a guarantee so i of course will be paying in 2 days to get the quick results. But if u really need some peace of mind give it a shot! Good luck!!

Just wanted to say I took my NCLEX this morning and walked out freakin dumbfounded. It shut off at 75...which i was hoping it would do but I was not as satisfied as i thought i would be... THe beginning of my exam and tons of SATA and I started freaking out cause I was not confident I was doing good.. I prayed PLEASE GOD NO MORE SATA...and thank God the rest of my exam didnt have too many more at all.. I got a few med calculations..one I worked the problem out and put my answer in feeling it was right but then noticed it said that this was the order to be divided into two doses so I didnt read the question thoroughly enough...it may have been right, it may have been twice the amount if it asked for the single dose to give...grrr. I got a few med questions with meds i never even heard of....and the majority of the test I felt I was just guessing... I tried to make them educated guesses, using kaplans process of elimination when I can.... I was happy to get the priority pt questions cause Ive gotten pretty good at those. Alot of psych, infection control. It wasnt a really well rounded test, and I guess everyones is different. Anyways I didnt expect it to shut off at 75 and I walked out feeling I failed... However I just did the PVT and I GOT THE GOOD POP UP!!!! I hope its right what everyone says.. cause I really want to be done with it!! and finally get to move on!

Ill post my official results when i get them.. I feel a little less anxiety now and im gonna treat myself and relax today...Finally get some sleep...couldnt sleep at all last night!

:redbeathe I hope to say soon that IM OFFICIALLY AN RN!! :redbeathe
