Agrippa Sep 4, 2008 I use to then I realized that I don't care much about how "built" I am. Now, I'm just concerned about staying in shape for health reasons. I find that a lot of people body build to appease their ego more than their health - especially when you get to the point when you're taking supplements. 0 Likes

AMAC8487 Sep 6, 2008 i used to lift weights like CRAZZZY 5'7 and 175 lbs I kinda stopped as I started working full time while in Nursing school. Im down to 165 now, but i feel great! I agree with the ego thing. I really dont care to be big anymore, just naturally healthy, with of course a little bit of muscle on me... buit no longer take Supplements or anything like that 0 Likes
Monkeyman Specializes in Critical Care. Has 1 years experience. Sep 6, 2008 Lifting keeps me sane! I couldn't imagine not having a "lifting lifestyle"... Tronix304, those are some really sick numbers especially at your size. Your deads and bench are stellar, and your squat is still over 2x bodyweight, which is solid. Are those numbers for raw lifts? You must compete in powerlifting? Do you do any olympic lifting? My max deadlift is 440 and at the time I was 5'8" - 167. I really want a 3 x bodyweight deadlift raw. I know it will take me many more years, but I hope to get there one day. For now I really wanna get to 500 on deads. Good to see some active guys on this board! 0 Likes

Oorah Sep 8, 2008 I've lifted on and off for about 10 years now. Went from decent build, to skinny Marine outta boot, and worked my way back up a couple times since Iraq doesn't have a weightlifting facility. But after being out a few years and having time w/ school im at:Bench- 375Squat- I just do 315 for sets now to save my knees. DL- I do about 350 for sets of 10 most of the time. My stuff has mostly switched to making sure I work things evenly and stretch a great deal everyday. Spend alot of time strengthing rotator cuffs in my shoulders, and doing various/odd back exercises. I try to change it up and also enjoy grappling/ground fighting, running distance/ sprints. Oh ya, and I'm 5'9" and weigh in around 190. 0 Likes

I was thinking about competing but haven't went through with it yet. I was wanting to get up to 300 bench first but i know that will take a while. never thought about doing olympic. what is your fav lift? i really like deads.definitely good to see other liftersI know there has to be some gals on here that do some sortLifting keeps me sane! FireM3dic432 Sep 11, 2008 Ive been told I should fight but never did because if i got hurt, i missed work.. dont think the chief would of been happy. And now im goin to school fulltime and getting ready to start this paramedic to rn program so im just lifting.. but maybe one day when i have 4 days off a week i'll start training for it, although it would look awkward having a bruised face taking care of patients. 0 Likes

Bobylon Specializes in Coronary Rehab Unit. Sep 13, 2008 I lift, but more to supplement/compliment my aerobics work (an avid cyclist here.....well, I was until nursing school started - school, family, p/t work take up a LOT o' time, but it just goes with the territory) Like some others mentioned, I ain't lookin' to get huge, just to remain strong and fit. I take supplements, but just general stuff, not "body-building" related, necessarily. I take multivit/min, fish oil, flax seed oil, ginseng, garlic, and glucosamine/msm( for my old knees - decades of running/cycling are starting to take their toll on my 50 yr old knees... ) 0 Likes
