Good Morning everyone! I found out yesterday that I was accepted into nursing school. I am very excited, the thing is....... I can't sleep:-( I have been stressing so bad and worrying about getting in I would think my body would be happy and just relax, but nope. So my question is how did you deal with the excitement of all of it? I have done all seven of my pre-reqs so I can't take my mind off of it by doing homework, I tried doing Math for Nurses last night to fall asleep(bad idea) with no success!! So please feel free to give some relaxation tips and regular " Do this before nursing school" starts. Thanks a bunch and hope to hear from you future nurses!

I am in my first semester right now, I did't have much time to relax before getting started. My advice to you is to get your textbook list and start reading, the chapters are huge and there is a lot of information to cover, the earlier you get started the better. Great job on doing some math, keep practicing but seriously get the fundamentals book required for your class and start reading. Know the nursing process and maslow's hierarchy of needs, you will need that when taking exams. Don't mean scare you but I wish someone had given me advice before I started. Good Luck.

I am in the same boat, I have a Mandatory week of orientation in two weeks, I hope to get my books by them so I can start to read them. I guess it's a wait game right now, I do math problems, at least 5 a day because that is my weakness.
Good luck with your studies,

You guys are crazy. lol. Enjoy your free time while you have it, trust me. Nursing school is stressful and time consuming, (but also amazing.) Just saying that you should should sleep, be lazy, read a book/watch a movie (that has nothing to do with nursing) because you will soon be living all things nursing. Good luck! :)
Yes, I find if I do math problems everyday in small doses (5) a day, I retain the formula, the conversion, and how to do the same problem with different circumstances, I still watch my talk shows, go to the gym, and read. But I know math is my weakness, so that is what I focus on. I can type a paper about anything, reading a book and remembering what was in the chapter is very easy for me. I wish everyone the best of luck. Soon we will eat, breathe, sleep nursing.

Congratulations! I know you were glad to hear the news! Best of luck with all of your nursing student endeavors! I would have trouble sleeping too! There's a lot to prepare for, but you'll be just fine! Relax a little while you still can!
Congratulations!! So here is a website for math- http://www.aaamath.com/
I also picked up a nursing med math disc for my laptop. Its helping to re-jog my memory. Hope this helps!!
