Good morning!
Joe, it's crazy how so many years later we still have those dreams.
I'm usually not a late sleeper unless I stay up late the night before, but I'm not one to stay up too late. Monday I was up past midnight and got up at 7:00. Today up at 6:00 AM.
I will scroll my phone a bit but put it down in favor of reading a real book. Since going on Trazadone I often fall asleep much more easily with the light on and book in hand. Staying asleep is an issue.
Dianah glad you had a nice day with the old man with the beard. 🙂
Safe travels Ado. In my part of Florida it will be in the 80's every day for several days. I was so tired of the cold this is nice.
J22, I wish I shared some of your hopefulness. While I don't feel despair, I'm still dejected at the state of things both here in Florida and in the country that would elect Trump.
The gutters were started yesterday. They came a couple of hours and it looks good and then left never to return and the job is barely started. No notice when they will be back. Because I complained the manager did call me and say she will update me when they can. I feel like I'm an afterthought and that they've moved on to other projects and will get to me a few hours here and there when they can. It's maddening and a sorry way to do business. Again, I'm saving my wrath to the end but will also stay on them to get it done. But I won't bore you with the process.
I have a load of laundry going and will go to the grocery store. I'll do some meal prep for the coming days. I'm working an overtime shift on Sunday that I need to also plan for.
Have a great day!
So, Momo barked me awake 3 times last night. I put Nannie back to bed twice. The third time Momo barked was when she was curled up right next to my right ear, and that's whatcha call a RUDE AWAKENING. It was at 4 AM. I went down to find Nannie sound asleep in the recliner, and I left her there. She was still there when I went down around 8 AM to open the drapes and unlock the back door for SiL to come in and do the morning routine before she took her to daycare. Other than hiring someone to sit on her all night, I don't know how to stop her from this habit. She doesn't even know WHY she gets up in the dark and sits in the den in the middle of the night. It is a thought-free compulsion. But, by golly, every single time she gets up, she makes her bed!
I am lazing in bed right now, and that is getting a lot done, for sure. Yuh!
I have 3 and 1/2 hours before I have to retrieve Nannie. Maybe after I get dressed I can summon spit to do something; probably wash the dishes. (NO laundry!)
Anyway, that's it for now, and I'll check back in here laydah!
Hello all!
No Stars, I learned a new term the other day (and I know you like words), which applies to you: hurkle-durkle, a 200-year-old Scottish term which means 'to lounge in bed long after it's time to get up.' 😄
Didn't fall asleep till sometime this morning, but finally got four hours in. Gabbed with oldest ds for a bit in the evening. We will meet with him on Saturday, for some pho. Did my exercises, and walked on the elliptical. Today I may get a few things at the grocery store. I paid a few bills online, yay me. So, yeah, exciting times, here. The BIG news is, we are getting some rain in the next day or so. Rain is ALWAYS good news!
The eagle nest and its occupants (Jackie, Shadow, and three eggs) at Big Bear Lake is doing well. Apparently, there are many eagle cams from which to choose, and another one in our area is on the West End of Catalina Island. Apparently a few days ago the camera went down just as the male eagle was in a tussle with another, younger eagle. When the cameras came up a few hours later, there had been a nest takeover and the young eagle is now the mate of the female eagle. Dh and I thought they mated for life, but apparently that is not so!
Have a good day!
Hi, gray day here, just beginning to snow, temp in mid 20s, and some wind. "Feels like" 20. I drug myself down to the gym, because there are no clear trails to jog on. The roads are patchy ice, so not terrible. Chased the vacuum around, cleaned the bathrooms, scooped dog waste in the yard, before it gets hidden under another layer. The birds are busy around the feeders: juncos, chickadees, towhees. There was no school again today, so the little boys next door were sliding down the hill in their yard.
I couldn't get through to my senators, mailbox still full, I hope thats a sign that citizens are making their voices heard. I did send emails.
Tweety that is crazy about how long your roof is taking. We had ours repaired in 2 days last Winter. And when we got our gutters replaced about 5 years ago, it was a husband and wife team and they did it in one day.
I know I will not be the little old lady (LOL) who makes her bed everyday. I always straightened patient beds in the hospital, because it seemed to make them feel better, but I really don't care. I always marveled at the lols in the hospital, who I would get to the toilet, and stop to wash hands, they would take a paper towel and wipe off the sink, faucet and counter, every time. I wonder what annoying habit I will have and refuse to give up. Probably having my perpetual cup of coffee at hand. Or cussing.
I hope it warms up a little by Saturday. Eldest ds got us a birdwatching expedition that's scheduled for Saturday, that is all day.

Tweety I could see how the hurricanes could have exacerbated those conditions
Dianah did not know that Disneyland has cats
Stars I hope you feel better
Hi TMB
NJ22 I also tend to be an early riser
Ado I wish it was that warm here
Work was not bad yesterday, no new cases but had enough work to do, and nothing unexpected. Hopefully today will be similar
Rest of the day was pretty ordinary, just grocery shopping and exercise
Had the classic anxiety dream last night...college, had exams, at least 1 or two I hadn't studied for and/or hadn't attended class. Odd how it's always so similar. Probably a sign I need to keep anxiety under better control
Should be a pretty ordinary day today
Will be cold again, low 30 with some freezing rain possible
