I am in the process of researching and looking forward to applying for both WSU and OU accelerated programs. Im also looking at the new MSU one in Detroit. I do not graduate until May 2015 with a BS in Psychology, my overall GPA is a 3.1 . I actually finished all of my pre-reqs (& coursework) at WSU about a year ago with one repeat and I can admit it is not the strongest on its own (damn those science courses), which is why I decided to try for CD2 programs. The degree in psych is a plan on the bottom of my list (going to try for Masters in Social Work). However my passion is Nursing and its what I really want to do. I am a CNA and been working the past 6 months, and over 128 service hours- including RN shadowing, and very active in organizations at WSU.
The only pre-reqs for all of these schools to take are Pathophysiology, Health Ethics, and another Math course, which I wont be able to take until Summer or Fall of 2015, since Im finishing out the psych major courses (14 credits) this Winter Semester.
What do any of you guys think my chances of acceptance are? When do you think I should apply? Any advice on what I should do or the route I should take?
Please help! Thanks :)

Hey jelisam, I am in the same situation as you are. I graduated from MSU in spring 2014 with a gpa of 3.1. My original plan was PA school but a 3.1 doesn't really cut it. I was iffy on nursing until my last year in school when I took basic intro courses and a long-term aide course. I have just applied to the MSU accelerated program and should find out soon what the verdict is. I also applied to OU. Transcripts are due the 15th of January so I should find out soon after that. I applied last year to MSU and did not get in. This year I applied with a few improved grades. I am feeling very confident in OU. They let you take their 5 pre-req's up to 3 times but only count the last attempt. They only look at your gpa from those 5 classes and take the top 60 applicants. When I went to the meeting they said to be competitive for their program you should have a 3.5 pre-req gpa, a 3.7 should solidify it.
I would definitely attend all of the accelerated nursing info sessions. I went to just about every info session for all of the schools in Michigan with the exception of Ferris State. Each school looks for something different and makes their decision differently. They are really beneficial and go into a great amount of detail. There's also tons of people there with the same questions you have. I also found that some information that is crucial to applying is discussed, some of which they don't put on the website.
