Hey y’all! So I’ve been meaning to get my BSN since I moved out to Texas, but circumstances and life happened (miscarriage, having a beautiful 5 year old daughter, separation, divorce, accusations against my nursing license, charge for DWI.)
Long story short. Life has prevented me from getting my BSN, as much as I want it. I have been wanting to get back in school but I was accused from my old job for diverting meds. After a long 2.5 years of dealing with the BON from Texas, my case was dismissed in March and I can continue practicing as a nurse in good standing, no write ups or issues. However, I was unfortunate to receive a DWI charge (which the BON knows about) that I’m still waiting on any kind of repercussion with, (They renewed my license). The circumstances leading up to the DWI are questionable since I was never behind the wheel when the arrest was made; I honestly was out walking with friends 30-45 minutes after parking (arresting officer never saw me behind the wheel) and they had me do a sobriety test with my glasses off even though I have nystagmus and I’m legally blind and have back/balance issues(I have a lawyer who will be able to get this charge dismissed.)
I need to get my BSN in the the position I’m in at work before a certain time frame (Charge Nurse) My question is, will any online ADN-BSN program be forgivable even if I haven’t been charged? I know Texas can be challenging to win over.
If you’d like to message me, I’m okay with that too. Just curious if anyone else might have experienced this before and what I should do. I already have a lawyer.
