I am looking into new graduate residency programs and from the look of hospital websites, the only one that I could determine that had a new graduate nurse residency program was Wake Forest. I have called all these hospitals multiple times (especially Wake) and have emailed them- and have yet to hear. Does anyone have any information? Thanks

UNC and Duke both have residency programs. Duke has notoriously not treated new grads very well but a new residency program that started this month will hopefully change that. I've heard really good things from new grads I know that work at UNC.

Do Not Go To Duke, It's A Horrible Place To Work For, Many New Grads Don't Make It Through The 1st Year, Unless Duke Is Paying Their Loans Back, Then They Seem To Be Stuck There. If You Don't Have Significant Loans, I Would Say Don't Go There At All.

IF you are interested in the Winston Salem area, both Baptist and Forsyth Medical Center have outstanding new grad programs. I went the route of WFU-Baptist and the critical care new nurse orientation was excellent. I felt that I was given many resources and a supportive environment as I began practicing.
