I am licensed in a different state and we do not have reciprocity with California. I have sent in my application and all the necessary things to get a license. It has been almost six weeks and the checks for my fingerprinting and for the review of my application have not been cashed. Is this normal?
I'm starting to get worried because the lease on my apartment is up at the end of August. I cannot apply for my NP license until I have my RN license. I know the California board of nursing website said it could take 3 months but it seems strange that after 6 weeks, they haven't even opened my packet of info yet?
Help! Thanks.
So I checked the BON's website and it looks like they are currently processing applicants from the beginning of January. It says wait time is 10-12 weeks. Well I applied in early March. Does this mean it is going to take A YEAR to get just my RN license? Help! I am freaking out.

I sent in my application by endorsement on Jan 15th. The check was cashed on March 4. My application only states "pending" online and I paid additional money to have a temporary license issued which was to take 4-6 weeks. I called 2 weeks ago and the person I spoke with stated they did not know why it had not been issued yet. He said he would have a supervisor call me within a few days. I never received a call back .........

I sent my endorsement application on November 15th and did not receive my license until Feb 27th.
It's completely normal to wait 3-4 months.

Oh my gosh, I have been putting it off...I was certain they would issue the temporary licenses within that 4-6 week timeframe! Have you heard back from anyone yet?
I was told the 4-6 week time frame for the temp starts when your check clears. Allow an additional 6-8+ weeks just for them to open your application and cash the check.
Oh, how lovely...so have you called BON back yet to see what is up? Thank you for sharing this, btw!
I have contacted them several times and get a different story each time. First time I was told my file was complete. My most recent interaction leads me to believe they just make up things to tell you. I was told my fingerprints/FBI report was missing. I was told how to verify this with the ATI number from Livescan. I did this and my report was sent 1/20/16. So, I call back and now I'm told that they have that but not my transcripts or other state verification. I was also told it is a minimum of 90 days before they even look at your application. So the online information is misleading for processing times where it states that applications for a temporary license take 4-6 weeks are are processed as they are received. They do not separate these from other applications.

Sadly it takes them a REALLY long time to process it. Hang in there it will go through.
Finally have a Temp License as of today with the help of the Governor's office!! one mix up after another on documents.
