One of my scholarsips already require me to do 8 hours a semester of community service/volunteer work. I have been volunteering at a local animal shelter, but have been considering trying to volunteer at a hospital. Childrens and ut both allow volunteers, would it help when I do go to apply since I would have some type of patient experience?

It is always good to have patient experience. Every little bit helps, but make sure your work hours don't take away from your studying. Good luck!

Thank you, I would make sure it wouldn't shorten my study time :)

Does anyone know if this would help in the application process?

depends on if your school admits students using a point system. Find out what your school looks for in applicants

Yes. Even if the school doesn't count it directly, it will give you background for essays and/or interviews.
