this is for information purposes only. no one should argue regarding this issue.

:monkeydance: PHILADELPHIA, PA-OCTOBER 26, 2006-The Board of Trustees of the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS International) met October 22-23, 2006 and considered whether Philippine nurses who have passed the Professional Regulation Commission's (PRC) June 2006 nursing licensing exam are eligible for VisaScreen® Certification.

The Board directed its staff and counsel to review and assess whether the licensure process followed in light of the challenged results of the June 2006 exam is "comparable" with that required for nurses licensed in America, as required by U.S. law. CGFNS will then make a final determination of whether passers of the June 2006 exam are eligible for VisaScreen® certification. CGFNS expects to reach a final decision on the question of comparability in the near future. Any VisaScreen® applications that CGFNS receives from June 2006 passers will be accepted but deferred for a final decision until this assessment process is complete. If the assessment concludes that the license is not comparable, the VisaScreen® application from a June 2006 passer will be denied.

Hi guys!

I just need some clarification....Regarding the Visascreen, Do I need to have a local license in order for me to apply for the Visascreen Certificate? Question b. under Non-Health care professionals on Section 15 ( Registration and License ) of the application asks " Have you ever been licensed in your Country of Education?" and my answer would be NO ( I really dont have any intention of taking the local NLE if possible), would this suffice? I know it looks and seems pretty obvious...but you cant be too sure about these things.

Thanks!

No, you don't need a PRC license if you apply for a VisaScreen, but if you have one then you have to mention it in your application.

as a june 06 passer who already obtained his/her license, then one can apply for their services (cgfns exam, ces etc.) aside from the visascreen since there was no announcement that these passers can't apply for them?
