I am from canada did my BScN from York university ready to apply for visa screen but confused about the part where we have to send an application to our university from we have perused the degree. How did you apply for it? I mean do we send the application direct to the university? How de we pay for it and how do we know the university is processing it?

You can check the CGFNS website for all of that.

Hello,

I am a Canadian citizen who has an RN license with the state of Minnesota. I want to work in Texas, so I applied there by endorsement. Now, my question is, I am still in Canada, to be able to work in Texas I know I can get a TN visa and for that, I need the Visa Screen correct? What is the CES (Credentials Evaluation Service)? Please advise, as I have been reading the CGFNS website (quite confused) and it mentioned something about Texas needing CES. I have been wanting to speak to somebody from the Texas BON but to no avail. The line is busy every time I contact them.

And just wondering if you know - the licensure endorsement application requires you to take a Texas Nursing Jurisprudence Examination - when do you take that?

If you look at the Texas state nursing board website it should indicate what is required to endorse. Usually if trained outside the US then they use an acceptable agency that assesses your transcripts and sees that your training matches theirs. CES is the usual agency and your documents can be used for both CES and VSC.

I think you will find you have to do the Jurisprudence exam

I guess my question really is...which one do I need Visa Screen? or both?

You need both. CES meets state requirements and VSC meets federal requirements
